Chichi’s small body suddenly stiffened when she heard Jenny’s footsteps getting closer. In just one second, the calm moment turned into chaos. Chichi let out a loud scream, sharp and desperate, echoing across the room. Her eyes were wide with fear and anger mixed together. Without thinking, she rushed forward as fast as her tiny legs could carry her, jumping straight onto Mom’s lap like it was the only safe place left in the world.
Mom was surprised by the sudden movement but quickly wrapped one arm around Chichi, trying to calm her shaking body. Chichi clung tightly, burying her face into Mom’s chest while still screaming loudly, as if warning everyone around. Her little hands grabbed Mom’s shirt, refusing to let go. She was clearly furious and terrified at the same time.
Jenny stood nearby, her expression dark and tense. She looked annoyed that Chichi had taken Mom’s lap first. Jenny stepped closer with angry eyes, making Chichi scream even louder. The sound was full of protest, jealousy, and fear. Chichi didn’t want to share Mom, not now, not when she felt threatened. Her small body leaned forward aggressively, clearly showing she was ready to fight if Jenny came any closer.
Mom tried to soothe the situation, gently patting Chichi’s back and speaking softly. She used her free hand to signal Jenny to stay calm. But Jenny was still upset. She stamped her feet and made sharp movements, clearly wanting to push Chichi away and take her place.
Chichi responded by screaming again, louder than before. Her anger burst out in that sound, a mix of crying and shouting. She tightened her grip on Mom’s lap, her eyes locked on Jenny, daring her to come closer. It was a battle of emotions, not strength—fear versus jealousy, love versus insecurity.
Eventually, Mom pulled Chichi closer and turned slightly away from Jenny, trying to protect her. Slowly, Chichi’s screams softened into heavy breathing. Though still angry, she felt safer knowing Mom was holding her tightly. Jenny, seeing she wouldn’t win this moment, stepped back reluctantly, leaving behind a tense silence filled with unresolved feelings.
